The Club is an entirely voluntary organisation, run by members for members. Meetings are organised by one or other member throughout the year. The meetings are informal, friendly gatherings and, although some events may be arranged, i.e. walks, visits to nearby places of interest etc., the emphasis is on freedom to do your own thing. The comment is frequently made that the Club has a very distinctive and easy-going atmosphere!
In 2007 our application for a DEFRA certificate was obtained and the Club was then able to join the ACCEO (the Association of Caravan and Camping Exempted Organisations). This gives us freedom to look for venues other than conventional campsites as well as to make the Club "acceptable" to the owners/managers of some sites.
The Members Pages of the Club's website and regular Newletters provide the means whereby we keep in touch with members.
Whilst the German manufacturers of our camping cars (La Strada Fahrzeugbau GmbH & Co. KG, in Echzell, Hessen) encouraged the launch of the Club, they have had no direct input. From the outset we have enjoyed a very warm and supportive relationship with the Company, who respond to our queries and appeals for help in English, and make us most welcome at the regular European events and factory visits. Members have been made to feel part of the extended la strada family."
